Good deal: New iPad and 10GB of data for $35 a month on Optus

29 May 2017

After a new tablet and a bunch of data to go with it? If you're happy to sign a two-year contract, Optus will sell you a 4G ready iPad on a 10GB plan for $35 a month. The iPad in question is Apple's 32GB "iPad", the new base model replacing the iPad Air 2.

Key specifications for the iPad include a 9.7-inch Retina Display, a 10-hour battery life, an A9 processor, 8MP rear-facing camera, and Touch ID fingerprint reader. Unlike the iPad Pro, the iPad doesn't have a light adaptive display, quad speakers, or support for the Apple Pencil or Smart Keyboard.

Over two years, the contract will set you back $840, which isn't too bad given that the 4G 32GB iPad retails for $669 at the moment. If you'd prefer the 128GB model, you're looking at $40 per month, or $960 over two years. The 4G 128GB iPad sells for $799 outright.

The plan also includes data-free music streaming through Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, and iHeartRadio.
