Australian streaming service Stan has laid out its content schedule for the second half of 2017, announcing new original productions and international licensing deals.

Headlining the slate is the revival of classic Australian film Romper Stomper as a six-part series. Writer director Geoffrey Wright is heading up the production, and actress Jacqueline McKenzie is reprising her role from the original flick. Stan says the series will pick up on the themes of the original and recontextualise them for 2017. Expect nazis, racism, and anti-fa when the series premieres this summer.

Stan also announced that it's been involved in the development of an international production - Electric Dreams - alongside Sony Pictures Television, Amazon, and UK's Channel 4. Electric Dreams is an anthology series based on the works of Philip K. Dick. Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston is both an executive producer and actor in the show, and Ronald D. Moore of Battlestar Galactica fame is producing and writing.

In licensing news, Stan will be exclusive home of the Will & Grace revival as part of a new agreement with NBC Universal. The series will premiere in September.

Stan's latest original production - The Other Guy - will premiere on August 17. The Other Guy is a HBO-style dramedy about a radio show host who finds himself dating again for the first time in a decade after a bad breakup. All six episodes will be streamble on August 17.

Other shows returning to or premiering on Stan later this year include Wolf Creek season 2, Transparent season 4, Mozart in the Jungle season 4, White Famous season 1, Swedish Dicks season 1, and The Girlfriend Experience season 2. UnREAL will be back for a third season in 2018.
