Samsung's Galaxy Tab S3 is almost a Galaxy Note in tablet form

While Samsung didn't unveil the Galaxy S8 as part of its Mobile World Congress keynote, it did give Android fans a new tablet to look forward to: the Galaxy Tab S3. While the device is ostensibly a beefier Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung is bundling the Tab S3 with a super-sized take on the S Pen.

Samsung says the new S Pen has a smaller 0.7mm tip and increased pressure sensitivity to improve the writing experience. The company's also taken some inspiration from its Note series of smartphones, adding in features such as the ability to write on Tab S3's screen when its off, PDF Annotation, and Air Command.

Key specifications include a HDR-ready 9.7-inch 2048x1536 pixel display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by Harman, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 6,000mAh battery said to last for up to 12 hours.

The Tab S3 will be available in both Wi-Fi only and 4G-enabled models.

Samsung has confirmed that the both the Wi-Fi and 4G Tab S3 variants will make it to Australia later this year.
