The waterproof Sony Xperia Z2 tablet will be hitting shelves in three models come the 29th of April, one of which will be available from Telstra for a discounted price.
Telstra will be offering the 16GB 4G+WiFi version for $720 outright, which is $39 less than if you went directly through Sony.
Alternatively, plans start at $55 per month, which is $35 for the 4GB plan and $20 in tablet repayments. Over a course of 24 months that comes to a minimum cost of $1320.
The Xperia Z2 is the thinnest, lightest tablet from Sony yet. Like its predecessors it’s waterproof, capable of being fully submersed in water for over an hour and taking direct pressure like that of a kitchen tap. It's also super thin and lightweight, measuring in with a profile of just 6.5mm and weight of 426g. That's 1.1mm and 43g less than the iPad Air.
In terms of hardware it's a powerful device with a 10.1 inch 1900x1200 display, that gives it around 222 pixels per inch. Under the hood is a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of on-board storage, depending on the model. There's also a MicroSD slot for expanding that storage a further 64GB.
